Love love love the new update
Ulysses hits all of the right notes for me. The ideas behind the interface, the simplicity and power are all fantastic.
I think a lot of people who first see this app might mistake it for just another Dropbox markdown writer, but for me, its another approach to a Scrivener style app. It doesnt have the long feature list that Scrivener does, but it allows me to do the same kinds of things I would want to in Scrivener but in a way that feels easier. It feels like theres no friction between me and getting my writing done. (No disrespect to Scrivener—its an amazing piece of software.) The concept of sheets, the organization capabilities, the way markup works, the sheet attachments—they all let me do what I need to without getting in the way.
Its a very specific idea about how to write and its different from an app like Pages so it might not be for everyone, but I love it. I do pretty much all of my writing in it from tech specs for work, to a novel (68,000 words into my first draft
